From the Mountain to Dinner Downtown

After a day at Snowbird, Alta, Brighton or Solitude, Brownstone 22 offers a downtown destination for a full dinner, martinis and wine.

Start with rotating oysters from the raw bar or house-made focaccia, or share a seafood tower with lobster tail, oysters, shrimp, Jonah crab claws and ceviche. Dinner moves from filet mignon and dry-aged New York strip to exceptionally fresh seafood, pastas and other from-scratch selections.

Chef Travis Herbert also brings influences from his Montana background into the menu, with game and other distinctive dishes adding another dimension to dinner after a day in the mountains.

Martinis are a signature, and Brownstone 22's wine-by-the-glass program takes an unusual approach: selections are priced equally, allowing guests to choose according to what they want to drink rather than price.

Two Downtown Après-Ski Options

Brownstone 22 or Felt Bar & Eatery

Coming back downtown after skiing doesn't have to mean the end of the day. Brownstone 22 and sister restaurant Felt Bar & Eatery, pictured at left, offer two distinctly different ways to continue the evening.

Choose Brownstone 22 when you're ready to settle in for an elevated dinner in a historic former bank, with steaks, seafood, martinis and wine.

For something more casual, head to Felt Bar & Eatery on Main Street. Felt pairs a dedicated raw bar and full dinner menu with creative cocktails in a relaxed, energetic setting.

Both restaurants are locally owned by the same team, giving skiers staying downtown a choice depending on how they want the evening to unfold.

The Partners

The Team Behind Brownstone 22 & Felt

Brownstone 22 brings together Chef Travis Herbert and restaurant partner Richard Romney, the team behind both Brownstone 22 and sister restaurant Felt Bar & Eatery.

Chef Herbert was recognized as a 2026 James Beard Foundation Best Chef: Mountain finalist for his work at Felt. His approach centers on a from-scratch kitchen, with a menu at Brownstone 22 that moves from oysters and seafood towers to steaks and full dinner selections.

Romney spent 17 years at acclaimed Salt Lake City restaurant Takashi, including 15 years as general manager and bar director. His experience helped shape Brownstone 22's approach to seafood, martinis, wine and hospitality.

Together, Herbert and Romney have created two distinct downtown Salt Lake City restaurants, with Brownstone 22 offering a more elevated historic setting and Felt Bar & Eatery offering a more casual experience on Main Street.
